Chapter 6: Changing Clothes

When he woke up again, the morning light had started to dawn. Wei Loan pretended to faint last night. The king was keen and perceptive. If he continued to act, there would be slip ups, so he might as well faint and end the conversation. He was carried back by the king. The two of them slept on one bed, but they slept in two futons. Wei Lian was at first cautious and alert, but it was true that he had a fever. Because of his fatigue, he eventually fell into a deep sleep. He woke to see the king's face right in front of him. .....To be truthful, to see this right in the early morning is pretty frightening. The King of Qin was born truly handsome. His features were flawless, and his eyelashes were each separate and long. He had a high nose bridge, and his lips were light and thin, right to the good point. Wei Lian stared for a while, and Ji Yue opened his eyes, revealing a good looking pair of eyes. His husky voice contained the pitch of a person who just woke up, his slightly uptur

Chapter 5: Tyrant

Different from the small wooden tub in Green Bamboo Court, A king's bathing place had a customized location at Tang Quan Court. In there was a large spring. The sides were made of white jade and a dragon head faucet spit out water. Underneath his feet was geothermal heating that was burning warm and cosy. Wei Lian took off his clothes, and put them on a screen partition. He treaded barefoot as he stepped on the jade stairs, and slowly dipped into the water. His black hair floated on the water, and his moist skin turned red from the heat.  Water droplets followed the path of his delicate collarbone and graceful spine, and streamed down into the water. The youth scooped up a spoonful of water, and poured it down on his own body. The dense mist shrouded his tired yet exquisite eyes. His eyes that reflected in the water were deep and introverted. He abruptly smiled, and he immediately looked pure and captivating, like a water fairy that sucked people's souls. Wei Lian didn't

Chapter 4: Drinking Medicine

Inside Yang Xin Court, the furnishings were intricately placed, and every piece was worth a fortune. Inside the room, the ground dragon (ancient geothermal heating) was vigorously burning, and the entire room's temperature felt like spring. In comparison, the Green Bamboo Court Wei Lian had been living in was rather desolate and unsightly. The palace attendants parted the bead curtain. Ji Yue carried him into his bedroom, lifted the tent curtain, and put him down on the dragon bed. Once Wei Lian touched the soft bed, he didn't want to get up because it was so comfortable. He wanted to roll on the bed so badly. What kind of godly life had the King of Qin been living? The small wooden post bed in Green Bamboo Court was hard and uncomfortable. Wei Lian had trouble just trying to turn over. His mouth didn't say anything, but his heart had been resenting it for a long time. Wei Lian felt his head was a bit heavy and dizzy; it was probably a cold. He did stay in the snow for to

Chapter 3: Kneeling Punishment

Wei Lian thought for a moment, his eyes lowered as he replied: "Timely snow falls on good harvest years; the snow is auspicious. Wei Lian is happy to come out and appreciate the snow." He is still not clear about the king's moods, and therefore his words were extremely careful to prevent his head from falling to the ground. To speak some words of fortune is always not wrong; people like to hear them. Who knew that the person on top softly ordered, "Cut off his tongue."  Wei Lian: ??? Why does this person not play a card of common sense? Wei Lian promptly bowed down his head. His voice was still considered steady as he asked, "Did Wei Lian say something wrong?" Some of Ji Yue's interest built up at that. If the other was horrified by his words and started to cry, then he would be a weak pretty flower vase. Ji Yue would definitely be to lazy to bother, and let his guard cut off his tongue. But Wei Lian's face didn't change. He dared to ask

Chapter 2: First Encounter

Wei Lian had enough of the days of hardship. He can endure suffering, but it did not mean he wanted to continue to be like this. In the Chu Palace, before he was six years old, he was a poor little thing that no one cared about. He lived a life that was no different from the small eunuchs in the palace. At that time, there was a favored consort who had already entered the palace for two years, but carried no child, and therefore couldn't balance her feet in the harem. Wei Lian took note of the timing, and purposefully ran into imperial flower garden to knock into the consort's arms. The servants immediately reproached him in saying that he did not have eyes, and wanted to drag him out to beat him with a stick. "Don't know where the little eunuch that wasn't taught proper etiquette came from. How dare he knock into mistress." Little Wei Lian raised his head, revealing his snow white cute face, and stubbornly said: "I'm not a little eunuch; I am Prince

Ch. 1: Hostage

12th Year of Qin Chang King, Winter Outside the window, the snow flutters everywhere. As the cold permeated the air, the servants in the palace who wore thick winter coats and were sweeping the snow would rub their hands together from time to time, their breaths producing a continuous stream of water vapor. The ice and snow had weighed down the plum blossoms a bit, and produced a layer of frost. The room inside wasn't much warmer either, the fire in the stove had been burnt out. The cold penetrated to their very bones, making all four limbs freezing rigid. A young man wearing a snow fox garment was sitting near the window. The hot tea that he had been holding has already been blown cold by the wind and snow. His fingers are long with distinct joints, and are very good looking. Chang Shou (name meaning long life) carefully stepped up: "Prince, it is cold outside, let this servant close the window." As the youth heard his voice, he turned his head around to reveal a classi
